Garment - Textile Exports Forecast at US$18.5 - 19 Billion in 2013
The Vietnamese garment and textile industry was forecast to earn US$17 billion from exports in 2012. The sector hoped to rake in US$18.5 - 19 billion in 2013.
To accomplish this objective, apparel and textile companies need to seek new customers, restructure export markets, and take greater care of customers in Japan, the United States and South Korea while boosting yarn export to China, Turkey, the Middle East, and Africa.
In addition, the sector will continue to invest in material production; upgrade fibre production facilities, and enhance fibre quality to produce high-quality exports.
At present, many Vietnamese garment and textile companies have also had orders for 2013.
