Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan Has Working Session with VBCSD

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan had a meeting with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) in Hanoi on January 15, 2013. The visiting delegation was led by VBCSD co-chairs, Dr Doan Duy Khuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and Mr Gary Schutz, CEO of Holcim Vietnam Cement Ltd.

 

The Deputy PM hailed VBCSD’s successful organisation of two important forums on sustainable development and food security, which attracted large numbers of officials, businesses and mass media. In addition, the council also effectively hosted some conferences on burning issues, including economic growth, environment management and climate change response.

 

He hoped that VBCSD would play an active part in encouraging and supporting the business community to implement sustainable development policies and orientations to deserve its role of orientating sustainable development strategy in Vietnam.

 

Dr Doan Duy Khuong expressed appreciation for the support of the Government, ministries and branches for the council in the past time, and asserted that VBCSD would continue to support businesses in improving their competitive capacity in 2013.
