Overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, from an unfunded State-owned enterprise, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Development and Construction Corporation (UDEC) has become a very big business in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Currently, UDEC holds major stakes in many large affiliated and associated companies like Vietnam Golf Tourism Corporation (51 per cent of stake), Thanh Chi Joint Stock Company (30 per cent), Vung Tau Nui Lon Nui Nho Tourism and Cable Car Joint Stock Company, and Quang Nam Water Drainage Joint Stock Company.
In the past time, UDEC has undertaken many urban development projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and other localities like National Road 51B, National Road 51C (Vung Tau City), Ba Ria Commercial Centre, Dong Xuyen Industrial Park, Phu My I Industrial Park, Golf Da Lat Hotel 3, Tan Duc Industrial Park (Long An province), and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Administrative Centre. Currently, UDEC is investing in four major projects in the province, including 4-star Golf Phu My Hotel, Phu My Township (Tan Thanh district), A Chau Residence, and Bau Sen Apartment Block (Vung Tau City) with a total investment capital of VND1,572 billion. To ensure sustainable development, UDEC always determines that "quality is a key element of every project." The firm always strictly adheres to construction technical standards and regulations. Not only that, UDEC regularly updates and adjusts technical and economic indicators to control production processes, calculate costs, and increase competitiveness.
For UDEC, human resource development plays an underlying base for development. Therefore, UDEC always focuses on this aspect. It offers deserving positions and development opportunities for all capable employees. Outperformers will be picked out and trained to take on more important positions in the shortest time. Specially, UDEC sets aside a handsome sum of money for personnel training because they will be backbone in the coming time.
Remarking on cooperation with foreign investors, CEO Trinh Hang said UDEC respectfully welcomes and creates favourable conditions for foreign investors to join hands with UDEC, tap potentials and advantages of industrial, residential, urban and tourism areas. Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is located in the southern key economic zone where industrial development growth is very high. In the past time, UDEC’s business results have demonstrated its dynamism and rapid adaptability. In spite of unfavourable domestic and international economic situation, UDEC still managed to attain its business targets in 2012. This success was attributed to the leadership roles of Board of Directors and the Board of Management and especially the unity, mutual learning, competitive working and creativity of all employees. In the coming time, UDEC will step up investment in infrastructure system and diversify its business scopes like construction, transportation, real estate, trade, tourism and others. It will also try its best to seek foreign involvement in the above fields. Besides, always respect its heir partners to ensure long-term and sustainable cooperation for mutual exploitation of advantages.
With its achievements, UDEC was presented the Lighthouse Award by the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee, Vietnam Competitive Brand 2012 by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association and the Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations (Vusta). CEO Hang said “We determine awards are our great pride and honour as well as our goal for greater achievements in the future. We will work harder to promote our pluses and overcome difficulties. The Board of Management always grasp favourable investment opportunities and pick up socially and economically effective projects. We know that we will face with more difficulties and challenges in the coming time and UDEC will strive to overcome them. With its right orientations, the company has asserted its position in construction, real estate trading, industrial zone construction, supporting industries, logistics and tourism inside and outside the province.”
