HCCS Providing Int'l-standard Degrees in Vietnam

SaigonTech (Saigon Institute of Information Technology) is the famous name of the branch of Houston Community College System (HCCS), USA, in Vietnam.

Saigon Tech was established in 2001 and was the first programme offering applied science degrees (ASS) in Vietnam under the supervision of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), USA. In financial consideration, SaigonTech is truly attractive as the expense for the three-year course of study costs only US$4,000 (one semester in the United States costs US$9,000) allowing Vietnamese students access to an education at a famous university.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Deputy Managing Director, SaigonTech has invested some VND15 billion in upgrading its infrastructure to American standard and will soon move into a new eight-storey building worth VND80 billion to meet the increasing needs of the students. SaigonTech is located in Quang Trung software park and offers training in applied sciences for information technology such as telecommunication networks, development of data bases and software system.

The teachers, from USA, Canada, Thailand, Hong Kong and Vietnam, are all M.A. or Ph.D. qualified, teaching in English and by HCCS methods. With diplomas from HCCS, graduates are fully capable of working in major companies of an international standard.
