Rubber Company 1-5: Expanding Business and Production 

Rubber Company 1-5 is a State owned enterprise under the management of Tay Ninh People’s Committee with four units: Company office (Tay Ninh town),  Suoi Day rubber plantation (Tan Chau district), Export Processing Factory (Hoa Thanh district), and Chang Riet purchasing station. The company has a labour force of 330 workers together with 220 contracted farmers and 600 workers.

The company’s products are destined mainly for domestic consumption. In the first half of 2004, 1,216 tonnes of rubber were produced with a turnover of VND23,764 million, 18 per cent more than the same period last year.

At present, the company has 2,782 ha of rubber plantation. The average yield is 1.58 tonnes/ha. The company has built a Latex workshop with a capacity of 1,200 tonnes/year and implemented equitisation in processing workshops. The total production value for 2004 is expected to reach VND43,012 million with a turnover of VND76,702 million and budget revenue of VND4,751million.
