FPT Elead - First Local Computer Used Microsoft Windows Software

    

The first computers of FPT Elead have been equipped with Windows operating system using Vietnamese language authorised by Microsoft from September 29, 2004, marking a new development progress of FPT Elead in manufacturing Vietnamese-trademarked computers.

At the signing ceremony of Microsoft Diamond SystemBuilder Programme between Microsoft and FPT Elead, Mr Faycal Bouchulaghem, Microsoft business promotion director for Asia-Pacific region, said Microsoft pledged to join hands with FPT to provide high-quality computers with copyrighted software to the Vietnamese market in the coming time.   

Hoang Minh Chau, FPT vice general director, said: “We are proud of being Diamond OEM partner of Microsoft. There is a fierce competition between computers using copyrighted operating system and counterfeited ones, however, we hope that we will receive a bigger belief from our customers. In only half of the first day, 50 computers using Vietnamese-language Windows operating system were sold out.”
