Vinaconex Xuan Mai: A solid future in fortified concrete products

The company was established in November 1988 and in 2003 became a member of the Vietnam Construction Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex). Vinaconex Xuan Mai specialises in concrete products. It has produced 58,170 cubic metres of pre-fabricated concrete parts, installing 28 apartment houses in Ha Dong and an apartment house in Xuan Mai.

To increase its turnover and profit, the company has upgraded its technology, producing fortified concrete products. In 1999 via ODA, the company imported a production line from PPB Company (France) to produce concrete support for flood-proof houses in the Mekong Delta and stilted houses in the Central Highlands. It also helped the housing project of the government and the resettlement for Son La hydro-power station.

In 2000, in co-operation with Ronveux Company (Belgium), the company installed a new production line producing over-size concrete parts for high-rise buildings, stadiums and bridges. The new products are fortified to grade 450-600 and 18,600kg/sq.cm, and according to quality management system standard ISO 9001. The pre-engineered parts also save construction time and reduce costs by 30 per cent. While the production of fortified concrete products needs continued investment, Vinaconex Xuan Mai has a bright and promising future in Vietnam.
