Vietnam - Iran Cooperative Ties Deepened

The 8th meeting of the Vietnam - Iran Joint Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation was recently held in Hanoi, aiming to strengthen and enhance cooperative relations development between the two countries.
 
Wishing to promote trade relations and economic cooperation, the two sides will strive to increase bilateral trade turnover to US$500 million a year in the coming years and be ready to encourage companies of both countries to boost up cooperation. Iran imports high-quality rice, tea, natural rubber, cashew nuts and coffee from Vietnam while Vietnam imports material plastic, pharmaceuticals, dried fruits, building materials and industrial products from Iran.
 
The two sides also exchanged views on a variety of topics of mutual concern from politics and diplomacy to economy, trade, agriculture, energy, culture, sports, tourism and communication. The two sides also agreed to promote bilateral cooperation between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mining.
