Expanding Export-oriented Specialty Fruit Area

The Southern Fruit Research Institute (SOFRI) said Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces and Can Tho City have added 20,000 ha of specialty fruits over the past three years, bringing their area of ​​specialty fruit trees to 83,000 hectares, accounting for 29 percent of ​​fruit tree areas in the Mekong Delta.

 

The development of specialty fruit areas aims to produce safe, high-quality products in large output for the market and edge up the competitiveness of exported fruit products.
