Etihad Launches Daily Flights to HCM City
On October 2, 2013, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Etihad Airways officially launched its daily flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
The launching means that travellers from Abu Dhabi and Ho Chi Minh City will enjoy the non-stop flights between the city pair with seamless connections to the airline’s global flight network. This new flight also meets the demand for business and leisure travel and cargo services between Vietnam and the UAE, the Middle East and Europe.
The Abu Dhabi-Ho Chi Minh City flights will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 22 seats in Pearl Business Class and 240 in Coral Economy Class.
On this occasion, Etihad Airways opened a Facebook competition named “Vietnam Eats” in which fans can upload photos of their favourite Vietnamese food for the chance to win a pair of Coral Economy class flights to Ho Chi Minh City from any point on the airline’s network. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from the most 10 popular photos voted by Etihad Airways’ Facebook fans at the end of October.
Etihad Airways’ President and CEO James Hogan expects that this new service will help support UAE government’s investment in infrastructure, energy, construction and tourism projects in Vietnam in the future.
