Enlivening Vietnam - Fukushima Friendship

As part of the activities to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relation, the Fukushima Festival with the theme "Spreading wings for Vietnam - Fukushima friendship" took place on November 2 and 3, 2013 at the Vietnam Women's Museum.

 

The festival was an act of expressing the gratitude and sincere sensation of Fukushima Prefecture for spiritual and material support of Vietnam after the devastating disaster occurred. Besides, it promoted the picture of a reinvigorating Fukushima Prefecture after the catastrophe with images of the rebuilding of Fukushima and Japanese traditional arts.

 

In addition to stalls that introduced Japanese cultural characteristics like Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony and sake wine, the festival also staged special programmes like Yukata and Kimono fashion shows and traditional folk dances.
