To celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2013), the annual Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2013), and the inauguration of a new Khmer temple complex., from November 18 - 24, the National Great Solidarity - Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week will take place at the Culture-Tourism Village of Dong Mo, Hanoi.
The highlights of the week are the opening programme of “National Great Solidarity - Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week”; the conference “Reviewing 15 years of implementing the Prime Minister's Directive 24/1998/ issued on June 19, 1998 on the establishment and implementation of conventions of villages and residential clusters."
Also there will be a wide range of diverse activities held during the week including a Highlands folk wood sculpture camp; cultural exchanges among ethnic communities; an exhibition to introduce traditional culture of Vietnamese people; workshop with the theme "Solution to preserve and promote traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in the current period"; cultural and art performances.
Especially, recreation of many special festivals will be set up as a part of the program: floating market characteristic of the southern region; highland market of the northern region; Bay Nui cow racing; Ok Om Bok Festival; Nang Hai Festival; new house celebration ceremony; H’Mong wedding ceremony; bonding ceremony of Mo Nong and E de ethnic, and others.
In celebration of this event, the Ethnic Culture-Tourism Village will inaugurate the Khmer temple complex after 3 years of construction.
It is expected that there will be 17 ethnic communities of nearly 400 people from 13 cities/provinces of Son La, Lai Chau, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri and Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh and An Giang participating in the National Great Solidarity - Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week, creating a festive atmosphere and a spirit of national solidarity of the ethnic people, honouring Vietnam cultural heritage.
The National Great Solidarity - Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week aims to advertise, promote and honour the material and immaterial culture of Vietnam ethnic communities, building and enhancing the Vietnam great national unity bloc, promoting exchanges and connection among the people of Vietnam. The event promotes the land and people of Vietnam; and advertises the image of the village, the common house of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, making it an interesting destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
