Under the guidance and assistance of the Ministry of Health, Provincial People’s Committee, People's Council, and related agencies and departments and thanks to relentless efforts of the team of nurses and doctors, over the past years, Tay Ninh’s health sector has continuously reaped outstanding achievements and increasingly performed the mission of taking better care for people .
To date, the healthcare network from province to commune has gained increasing investment. Facilities and medical equipment are upgraded, thereby contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive health care for the people. In addition, the health sector also implements health care policy for the poor, children under 6 years old, ethnic minorities, social policy beneficiaries and those who had contribution to society or in war time. The situation of overcrowding in hospitals has been gradually solved; technology transfer to branches has achieved positive results.
The quality of healthcare continues to be raised. Facilities are actively implementing new techniques in diagnosis and treatment. The provincial General Hospital is equipped with scanner, endoscopy machine, 4D ultrasound machine. For the first time the hospital has performed the surgical treatment for spinal fractures, disc herniation, and Longo surgery. The district’s hospitals have been able to perform complex surgeries such as combining bones and connecting tendons.
Besides, the basic healthcare network has received large investment in recent years. A series of commune health centres have been constructed and upgraded in all districts, contributing to fundamental changes in the medical image of the town and rural areas. Health Department Director Tran Van Be said that the new rural construction program of the period 2010 - 2020 and the implementation of the national criteria for healthcare of the period 2011 - 2020 open up tremendous opportunities for development and improvement of the primary health care network. In terms of medical criteria, almost 25 communes have received investments in infrastructure and equipment in the period 2012-2015. Currently they are focusing on improving the quality of medical activities and development of health insurance in the community.
The health inspector network from province to district is increasingly consolidated. The quality management system of the Department of Health meets the ISO 9001:2000 standard and contributes to improving the quality of managing private medical practice as well as a number of other medical management functions. Besides investments from the state budget, the mobilization of social resources to invest in health also achieves positive results. Cao Van Chi Hospital is the first private hospital in the province which officially went into operation in 2007. Currently the second private hospital is about to complete and expected to go into operation in early 2014.
To promote the achievements and to further improve the efficiency of comprehensive health care for people, towards 2015, Tay Ninh’s health sector focuses on improving efficiency and the proactive approach in the prevention of diseases. Mr Be shared that to take advantage of growth opportunities and to build capacity to offer good health care for people, the top priority of the sector in the past time as well as in the upcoming period is to ensure human resources to operate, exploit and develop health care services to better promote the efficiency of the invested facilities and equipment. Accordingly, the health sector aims to carry out policies supporting training and attracting human resources. Besides, the sector currently has staff rotation mechanism to support areas and fields riddled with difficulties. Also the whole sector aims to complete the overall planning to develop the health system in the province to 2010 with the vision towards 2020 by all resources. At the same time, the sector continues to conduct research and implement solutions to improve the quality of health care services at all levels to address the situation of overcrowding at the central hospitals. Furthermore, it strengthens primary health care at the commune level, promotes professional training and transfers technology to the district level.
