Hong Gai Tourism and Services JSC (Honggai Tourist), formerly known as Food and Services Company, was founded in 1961 and merged with Hong Gai Tourism and Services JSC in 1993. In 2003, the company conducted equitisation and was named Hong Gai Tourism and Services JSC as today. The company was among the top 5 successful tourism companies in Quang Ninh in 2008.
The company is currently operating in areas including international and domestic travel, hotels, restaurants and services such as ticket agent, ship supply, study abroad consultancy, export- import of consumer goods, machinery, and temporary import for re –export.
Halong – Phong Thanh International Cruise Line began its operation in 2003. This is the tourist route that Honggai Tourist spent much enthusiasm and energy cooperating with its Chinese partner, Minh Nhat JSC, Juangxi and Phong Thanh International Travel Company, a reputable company and experienced in the management and transportation of passengers by speedboat. The company has successfully built Ha Long – Phong Thanh marine inland route using speedboats to transport and do business.
Besides ship tours such as Bac Hai - Ha Long and European ship, the operation of Ha Lon – Phong Thanh high speed boat route has enriched tourism activities in Ha Long as well as diversified business category of the company.
The company is currently the chairman of 849 Mong Cai Club, which includes 17 Vietnamese travel companies welcoming Chinese tourists using entry passes to enter Vietnam to do sightseeing under Regulation 849 of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security. The company has worked hard in regulating the playing ground of 17 Vietnamese tourism companies, enhanced competitiveness and contributed to stabilizing this customer segment at the Mong Cai border gate.
Honggai Tourist has helped build and strengthen Ha Long – Bac Hai international ship (Star Ship), made its operation more stable, enhanced quality of tours and routes, got much sympathy from visitors, created a healthy business environment and welcome tens of thousands of tourists from China each year. This is a major international customer segment of the company.
In addition, the company also organizes domestic tours for Vietnamese tourists and travel services (immigration visa, air ticket booking services as a first tier agent of Jetstar Airlines, etc.)
