Vietnam Draws US$5.5 Billion FDI in Jan-May
The Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment said Vietnam attracted US$5.5 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first five months of 2014, down 34.3 percent against the same period of 2013.
Since the beginning of 2014, as many as 38 countries and territories had new investment projects in Vietnam. South Korea was the biggest investor in the reporting period with US$1.31 billion (fresh and additional capital), accounting for 24 percent of the total, followed by Hong Kong and Japan.
