Vietnam Create Favourable Conditions for ASEAN Investors

Addressing the second ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) within the framework of the tenth ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai affirmed that the Government of Vietnam would encourage Vietnamese enterprises to actively and effectively cooperate with enterprises from other ASEAN member countries so as to boost trade and investment activities and contribute to realizing the common goals of ASEAN.

Addressing the second ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) within the framework of the tenth ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai affirmed that the Government of Vietnam would encourage Vietnamese enterprises to actively and effectively cooperate with enterprises from other ASEAN member countries so as to boost trade and investment activities and contribute to realizing the common goals of ASEAN. He stressed that the Government of Vietnam highly appreciates the activities of ASEAN enterprise associations and expressed his confidence that these associations will further contribute to the process of integration and development of ASEAN as well as narrow down the development gap among member countries. The Prime Minister expressed his view that the efforts made by ASEAN and international organizations in these fields should be further strengthened with specific programs and projects to the effect that after a period of time, the development gap among the member countries will be remarkably reduced, creating favourable conditions for the building of ASEAN Community. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the recommendations that ASEAN-BIS would submit to ASEAN leaders for the ASEAN’s accelerated integration process, including proposals related to specific projects in the areas of cooperation priority.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai affirmed that over the past five years, the ASEAN’s economic integration has seen important steps-forward that contribute to the development of each member country and ASEAN as a whole. Many programs and projects for narrowing down the development gap among ASEAN member countries, notably the development projects in Mekong Sub-region, have been successfully implemented.
