Propak Vietnam 2015 Promoting Processing and Packaging Industry

Recently, at the Saigon Centre for Fair and Exhibition, 230 firms (82 percent being foreign enterprises) from 24 countries and territories will attend the International Exhibition on Processing & Packaging Technology ( ProPak Vietnam 2015). The exhibition will be jointly held by the Singapore Exhibition Services Company and the VCCI Exhibition Organization Company (Vietcham Expo).
 
2015 marks the 10th anniversary of ProPak Vietnam that has been held in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's exhibition has the largest scale ever with an area of 6,000 square metres, up 25 percent compared to the previous year; the number of new businesses participating accounts for 15 percent. Among the eight booths from foreign countries and territories specialising in packaging machinery for export, Taiwan has the largest number of enterprises, 19.
 
The products, technology and services introduced in Propak Vietnam 2015 include bottling and canning technology; printing materials; confectionary equipment; processing and packaging of cosmetics; fluid and milk product handling technology; packaging; food additives and spices; safe handling and food hygiene technology; measurement equipment; meat processing industry; and plastic equipment technology.
 
According to the organizing committee, the growth in the size of the exhibition is a proof showing that industry in Vietnam has grown. Mr BT Tee, Deputy Chief Representative Office of the Singapore Exhibition Services Company in Vietnam shared that the modern world needed technology, all the utensils used everyday needed packaging technology; and this field was developing in Vietnam and Vietnam was becoming increasingly important for foreign manufacturers. According to Mr BT Tee, ProPak Vietnam is for the benefit of the processing and packaging industry of Vietnam.
 
For the exhibition area of Taiwan, Mr John Tang, Director of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in Vietnam said that Taiwan would showcase many machines and the most advanced packaging technology. Mr John Tang added that Taiwan was one of the largest investors in Vietnam and in the future, Taiwanese businesses would divert investment into Southeast Asia including Vietnam, and the field Taiwan businesses interested in was supporting industries and high technology.
 
In addition to the products and technology, visitors also have the opportunity to access and update the latest issues of food safety, green packaging, environment friendly packaging through a sequence of workshops such as: Green packaging, production towards environmentally friendly, held by the Federation of Singaporean Manufacturers, Packaging Council of Singapore and the Singapore Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City; Processing technologies towards nutrition and food safety held by the Association of Food Science and Technology of Vietnam; Internationally standardisation to help update and improve the ISO 22.000:2005 management system of food safety held by the Lean Six Sigma club.
