VCC Increases Prestige
According to Construction Minister Nguyen Hong Quan, consulting must be ahead of construction development. The Vietnam National Consultant Corporation for Industrial and Urban Construction (VCC) got special mention from the Minister. On
The first success of VCC was the building of the production line II of Hoang Thach Cement Plant with Danish advanced technology and this was followed by consulting services to over 1,000 big and small projects nation-wide in industrial and urban construction. In 2003, VCC was one of the first companies applying the form of main consulting contractor in Thai Nguyen cement project with a production capacity of 4 million tonnes per year. VCC also acted as main consultant together with Krupp Poliuss Group (Germany) Song Gianh Cement Plant (Quang Binh province), saving over VND10 billion for the State. Due to this good performance, the German partner has asked VCC to continue its co-operation outside
VCC has also participated in designing and evaluating foreign designs such as Nghi Tam tourist village, Coca cola plant, Boeing hangar, and North Thang Long industrial zone. Owing to efficient evaluation, several designs were improved saving expense and ensuring the durability of projects.
According to VCC Director Le Quang Dao, their success is due to the upgrading of staff. The company has focused on research work, developing and participating in over 300 research projects such as general design of industrial projects, rural environment and development, and poverty reduction programmes, especially "National strategy on condensed waste treatment 2020".
The turnover of the company has increased 10-15 per cent year-on-year. In 2004, VCC designed the diversification of ownership and industries in the form of parent companies.
