Recently, the Prime Minister, who is also the Head of the National Steering Committee for International Integration, signed Directive No. 15/CT-TTg on the continued implementation of Resolution 22 of the Politburo on international integration. The directive states urgent tasks to be carried out in 2-3 years to come.

Interagency steering committees for international integration of politics, security, defence, economy, society, culture, science and technology, high-quality education and training will give expert advice on policies; and smoothly coordinate with central and local agencies in charge of international integration.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies and Governmental agencies must see international integration as a priority task; focus resources to complete, sign and prepare for the enforcement of free trade agreements (FTAs) which are being negotiate, and uphold multilateral diplomatic roles to actively contribute the construction and formation of multilateral cooperation mechanisms consistent with national interests. They also need to support local businesses and industry associations to expand external economic relations, spread information and communication on opportunities and challenges of integration, especially ASEAN Economic Community, economic and commercial commitments.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will actively raise enterprises’ awareness of economic and commercial commitments of Vietnam and step up their participation in international integration, including APEC 2017 in Vietnam.
