Travelling in the low season has become a new trend as it not only saves one from high costs, but from crowds as well.
Vietjet has launched a new summer promotion to facilitate that trend as it celebrates the opening of new routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Pleiku, Ho Chi Minh City to Seoul (South Korea), and Ho Chi Minh City to Yangon (Myanmar).
“Enjoy your summer – It is time to Vietjet” offers more than 500,000 tickets starting from zero dong for all domestic flights and international flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei, Seoul, and Yangon. The tickets are available on www.vietjetair.com.
The travel period for the promotion runs from September 7, 2015 to December 31, 2015 with the exception of the new routes to Pleiku, which debuts on October 1, 2015 and Yangon on October 2, 2015.
“Pick up your suitcase and fly!”
Minh Tu, a local office worker, has just returned from a summer trip to Taiwan and he’s already planning another one.
Tu said his secret for affording the expenses is to plan ahead and keep an eye out for super cheap air tickets.
Tu is just one of many solo tourists in the hunt for cheap tickets. They are the travellers who have found the joy of saving money and avoiding the crowds by travelling off season.
Kim Quang, another fan of off-season travel from Hanoi, said: “The important thing is you have to find good tickets. Vietjet is opening new routes to Taiwan, Myanmar and especially South Korea with super cheap tickets. That’s why everyone is so eager to pick up their suitcases and fly, although it’s not the peak season.”
One representative of a travel agent in Hanoi said: “Various promotions from Vietjet are creating a new travel habit. Solo tourists are hunting for cheap tickets by planning months ahead for tours to different new destinations. Most of them are satisfied and extremely excited with this kind of off-season travel.”
Cheap tickets from Vietjet have also allowed the company and others to reduce their domestic and foreign tour cost by 10-20 percent the past year, only to add more reasons for people to travel, the source said.
Ancient Yangon or beautiful Seoul?
After routes to Thailand, Singapore and Taipei, Vietjet continues to bring more excitement to local travellers this summer with new routes to the kimchi kingdom South Korea and the country of golden pagodas Myanmar.
The new route to Yangon only takes more than two hours from Ho Chi Minh City, bringing travellers to the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as Golden Rock as it is located on a rock on top of Mount Kyaiktiyo, and 1,000 other temples and pagodas in the ancient city of Bagan.
Meanwhile, South Korea has become the top off-season destination as it is most beautiful from September to the rest of the year.
Vietjet flights to Seoul are available from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Come aboard to discover its beauty, its culture and possibly visit some of your idols in the Korean show business.
