Agricultural Exports Bring in USE19.31 Bln

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said Vietnam earned US$2.38 billion from export of agricultural, forest and aquatic products in August, bringing the total export value of the sector to US$19.31 billion in the first eight months of 2015, down 4.8 per cent year on year.

 

Particularly, key agricultural commodities generated US$9.18 billion, down 7.7 per cent from a year ago. Coffee, rubber and rice exports plunged.

 

Vietnam shipped 505,000 tonnes of rice valued US$228 million in August 2015, reaching 4.09 million tonnes worth US$1.76 billion in the January-August period, down 8.6 per cent in volume and 13.1 per cent in value from a year earlier.
