GDT Sets up Risk Management Board
The General Department of Taxation announced the decision of the Ministry of Finance on the formation of Tax Risk Management Committee affiliated to GDT on March 9, 2016.
According to Decision 2019/QD-BTC of the Ministry of Finance, the Risk Management Committee is responsible for advising the General Department of Taxation to build legal bases, criteria, procedures and regulations on risk management in tax administration; long-term, medium-term and annual plans on risk management to submit to the General Director of GDT for reporting to the Finance Minister for consideration and decision.
Risk Management Committee is responsible for collecting and analysing information; assessing risks in tax management process; classifying risks in the compliance of laws by tax-paying organisations or individuals; researching, developing and deploying professional technical measures for risk management; and recommending equipment and technical means to meet management requirements. The committee will regularly review and assess the application of technical risk management in the entire sector, recommend tax risk policies to relevant agencies, and coordinate with relevant bodies to develop programmes and train risk management knowledge.
