In a bid to match supply and demand in the labour market, especially manpower for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and support the youth to seek good jobs and successfully start up businesses in the current context of economic competition and integration, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) - HCM Branch in cooperation with Microsoft Vietnam hosted the forum “Enhancing workmanship and entrepreneurship for the youth and connecting SMEs”. This event marked the next step in the activity chain of YouthSpark Career Readiness Project.
YouthSpark is a global initiative launched by Microsoft Corporation in 2012 with the aim of helping 300 million youths worldwide with opportunity to access education, employment and career. The cooperation project with VCCI is one of four projects of this programme.

Speaking at the forum, Mr Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of VCCI and Director of VCCI - HCM, said that with the deployment of YouthSpark project in Vietnam, VCCI and Microsoft want to introduce and equip knowledge, skills and workmanship in a modern environment, increase competitiveness in the integrating labour market for youth and SMEs, and connect with the Vietnamese SME community. The project also equips core values, scientific and technical tools for the youth to successfully start up a business in the digital era. He stressed, “Knowing that support for developing business start-up skills is essential and connecting employment policies in SMEs is practical and significant, particularly when Vietnam’s economy is integrating into the world as now, VCCI pledges to try its best to carry out the project most effectively, thus helping develop the Vietnamese workforce and assisting the SME community to develop and enhance competitiveness in the market.”

YouthSpark Project will help Vietnam address weaknesses in human resources by training working skills, information technology skills, computer science and business skills. The project hence supports the youth, young entrepreneurs and workers in SMEs to improve their working skills and take confident steps into the integrating labour market.
