Tay Do Garment Company on Development Path

Last year, many Vietnamese garment making enterprises faced difficulties due to complicated developments in quotas. However, with great efforts from its cadres and workers, the Tay Do Garment Company overcame these difficulties. The company even invested VND 50 billion in building two new factories in O Mon on an area of 8,000 square metres and in Can Tho on an area of 7,000 square metres.

Nguyen Thai Hung, general director of the company, said that after the construction of the two factories is completed later in 2005, his company's capacity would double. The number of products will increase from 2.4 million units to four million. The company will create jobs for 1,000 more people, bringing its total number of workers to 3,000.

The company has concentrated on upgrading its equipment and technology. In addition, it has applied the ISO 9001 quality management system and has been granted with a SA 8000 certificate.

Its conversion into a holding company has helped the Tay Do Garment Company become more profitable.

Major markets of the company include the US and Europe. In 2005, the company will pay more attention to non-quota markets.
