VCCI in Further Cooperation with Schneider Electric on Sustainable Business Support

Recently, at the VCCI Headquarters, Mr Nguyen Quang Vinh, Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and Secretary General of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), hosted a reception meeting with the Schneider Electric delegation led by newly appointed CEO in Vietnam, Mr Kim Yoon Young, succeeding Mr Xavier Denoly.
At the meeting, Mr Vinh thanked Schneider Electric Vietnam Company for their active support, and former CEO Xavier Denoly in general and Mr Do Manh Dung, Director of Industrial Solutions Business Department, in particular, for VBCSD’s programmes and activities in the role of the Vice Chair of the Council. He also expressed hopes for stronger cooperation between the two sides under the leadership of new CEO Kim Yoon Young.
 
In addition, he proposed some cooperation contents that VCCI/VBCSD and Schneider Electric Vietnam Company may consider in the coming time, including supporting business start-ups in Vietnam, promoting green growth, and organising annual forums on sustainable cities.
 
Mr Xavier Denoly said, Schneider Electric Vietnam highly appreciated ongoing initiatives and projects conducted by VCCI/VBCSD, especially corporate sustainability ratings in Vietnam in 2016. He also shared his company’s recent remarkable activities like the construction of electric car recharging stations for Mai Linh Taxi and the US$45-million ongoing factory construction in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
Mr Kim Yoon Young stated that Schneider Electric will continue to accompany VCCI/VBCSD in the coming years to support the business community to deploy models and initiatives to conserve energy, reduce waste, respond to climate change and protect the environment towards green growth.
