Expanded Technical Meeting of Standing Team, Assistant Team of Tourism Development Cooperation Steering Committee for 8 Northwest Provinces

Recently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province held an expanded technical meeting of the Standing Team and Assistant Team of the Tourism Development Cooperation Steering Committee for eight Northwest provinces in Son La City, Son La province.
Mr Nguyen Dac Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho and Head of the Steering Team, chaired the meeting. Other distinguished attendants included Mr Nguyen Nhu Cau, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La, and Mr Hoang Nhan Chinh, representative of EU projects.
The meeting focused on preliminary report on tourism cooperation activities of eight northwest provinces in the first nine months of 2016; ratified the draft plan on surveying and workshop on tourism potential valuation and standard tourism development solutions; approved tourism development cooperation plans in 2017 with the main contents being tourism development policies, tourism product development, tourism promotion and tourism human resource development cooperation.
Delegates from eight provinces agreed on draft action plans for 2017. Wrapping up the meeting, the presidium concluded that tourism development cooperation plans of eight northwest provinces in 2017 will stick to the National Tourism Programme 2017 - Lao Cai - Northwest approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Decision No. 2931/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 23, 2016. The chairmanship board also adjusted some contents in draft plans like integrating Northwest Tourism Fair into Vietnam - Laos Cultural, Sporting and Tourism Exchange Festival and organising annually VITM Hanoi Fair. The leading province will be responsible for building booths and allocating budgets for common booths of eight provinces. Booths will feature slogan and logo symbols of Northwest tourism and member provinces. The meeting suggested the Northwest Steering Committee to ask for support budgets from the Fair Organising Board, etc.
