The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) initiated anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into aluminium extrusion and galvanised steel imported from Vietnam in August and October of 2016. Following investigations in June and August of 2017, ADC published the final report on two cases in which ADC decided to terminate investigations and to not impose anti-subsidy duties on aluminium extrusion and zinc coated steel exported to Australia from Vietnam.
The ADC’s final conclusion is a positive and successful result of the Government and enterprises of Vietnam. This will be a positive precedent for future cases, as it is the first time Australia investigated anti-subsidies and “special market conditions” of Vietnam.
