IMF Chief Economist Visits Vietnam

Dr. Raghuram Rajan, chief economist and head of the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), yesterday began his first visit to Vietnam.

During his two-day trip, Rajan will work with government officials, business representatives and diplomats to become acquainted with the country’s economy and express his opinions about the world’s economy.

He will attend a working session for a group of Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laos officials taking part in a regional training course in Hanoi being run by the IMF’s Singapore Training Institute.

He also plans to join a workshop attended by the National Economics University of Hanoi graduates.
