Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV), one of the most famous car manufacturers worldwide, launched an exhibition of its vintage cars in
Thomas K. Rapp, MBV general director, said the collection of six classic cars, the oldest dating back to 1886, is evidence of corporation's high-quality products and established experience.
Rapp was speaking at a press conference at the New World Saigon Hotel prior to the launch of the exhibition named Shining Silver Star in Nguyen Du Culture-Sports Club in District 1.
"An age-old proud tradition is the foundation for the carmaker's stronger development in the future", he said.
"We have the experience and products that will lead us into a wonderful future," stressing, "We want to reaffirm that we'll never change our ambition in satisfying customers' demands, in top quality products and in progress."
The six old vehicles on display are the Benz Patent Motor Car No. 1 made in 1886, the Mercedes 37/70 hp Simplex (1907), the Benz 8/20 hp (1913), the Mercedes 28/95 hp (1924), the Mercedes-Benz 320 Streamliner (1939), and the Mercedes-Benz 300 (1952). All of them are shipped from
The old vehicles will be on show at the sports club until this Saturday, then at the company's factory in Go Vap Districts from April 25 to 29, and then at the distributor Haxaco's showroom in Binh Thanh District from May 2 to 13.
The show of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Vietnam are the last leg of the Asian tour of seven countries and territories, namely Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Mercedes-Benz will also display its latest luxury models namely E 200K Elegance and C240 Avantgarde.
