The Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam) on May 8 safely launched an oil platform at the Rang Dong (Dawn) oil field in southern Ba Ria Vung Tau province.
The 600-ton oil platform was manufactured by the Petroleum Technical Services Company (PTSC) for the Japan-Vietnam Petroleum Company (JVPC) to drill and pump oil from an additional 12 wells in the site.
The Oil Platform C1, the third in the Rang Dong oil field by PTSC, which consists of an automatic exploitation control system, a chemical pumping system, oil and water treatment systems, a solar power system and a helicopter crane, was certified as reaching the international safety standards by Lloyd.
