EU, India Impose Anti-dumping Duties on Vietnam Products

Vietnamese exports of compact fluorescent lamps and manioc starch to Europe and India respectively will be subject to anti-dumping duties, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently reported.

The European Commission last week decided to expand its anti-dumping duties on imports of integrated electronic compact fluorescent lamps (CFL-i) from China to Vietnam as well.

The anti-dumping duty applicable to imports of Vietnam-made compact fluorescent lamps to the European market will now be 66.1%, the decision on May 4 said.

Meanwhile, India announced its final decision on the investigation over the anti-dumping case of countries, including Vietnam, exporting manioc (cassava) - a tropical plant with an edible root - starch to India.

According to the decision, the current import duty of 30% will be increased by three percentage points in the first year.
