Modern Services Introduced at Banking Vietnam 2005

The Information Technology Department of the Bank and the International Data Group (IDG) organised a seminar and exhibition 'Banking Vietnam 2005' in Hanoi on May 31 and June 1.

'Modern banking services' is considered by experts, managers and entrepreneurs as a necessity, suitable with the State's approaches. In the banking sector, the expansion of modern services has become a target as a tool for effective competition among banks. Furthermore, when Vietnam joins the World Trade Organisation (WTO), modern banking services are favourable conditions for investors. This will help boost the development of international exchange and the expansion of tourism and services. The development of banking services means the development of infrastructure facilities with the perfection of the legal environment and technology.

The main activity of 'Banking Vietnam 2005' was an international seminar on 'Modern banking services with Vietnam's economic development and global integration' and an exhibition of products, solutions and equipment for the expansion of and the renewal of banking technology.

The event attracted leaders, managers and researchers in the financial and banking sector and relevant agencies, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, State-owned commercial banks, joint stock commercial banks and electronic firms, such as Visa, HP, FPT, Sun Microsystems, Misoft, Samsung, Ngoc Linh, etc.

During the event, banks and enterprises transferred and received new technologies.
