Manulife Financial Co-sponsors Canada-Vietnam Business Forum

Manulife Financial was one of the sponsors of the Canada-Vietnam Business Forum co-organized by the Toronto Board of Trade and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the occasion of Prime Minister Phan Van Khai’s visit to Toronto at the end of June, 2005.

The purpose of the Forum is to promote closer business ties between Canadian and Vietnamese companies. Mr. David Matthews, General Director of Manulife said at the forum: “We are pleased to be a principal sponsor of this Forum that will encourage Canadian business investment in Vietnam.”

Our insurance business has developed very successfully, supported by the policies of the Vietnamese Government to modernize and simplify the regulatory environment. With a population of over 82 million, the market has incredible potential, particularly after Vietnam’s impending accession to the WTO,” Mr. Matthews added.
