Timely Supporting People and Businesses Affected by Covid-19 Pandemic

With the urgent and drastic determination of the social security sector to launch support policies for people and businesses affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, many employees and employers across the country have received support policies on social insurance, unemployment insurance and other support policies.

Accordingly, by the end of July 31, 2021, support policies for employees and employers throughout achieved many impressive results: Completing the delivery of notices on revised premium payment rate of 0% to occupational accident and disease insurance fund to 375,000 employers with 11.238 million employees whose reduced amount to the occupational accident and disease insurance fund (from July 2021 to June 2022) was VND4,322 billion; receiving and solving documents for 120 employers with 9,533 employees whose temporarily suspended payment to the retirement and survivorship fund was VND61.53 billion in 25 provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Binh Thuan, Can Tho, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Gia Lai, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Khanh Hoa, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Lam Dong, Nghe An, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, Quang Ninh, Son La, Thua Thien - Hue, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh; and confirming the list of 175,804 employees belonging to 10,858 employers to get support in 55 provinces and cities.

Social security agencies of provinces and cities also settled benefits for 116,160 employees whose labor contracts were suspended or who accepted unpaid leave; 7,959 employees who stopped working to receive aid of VND1 million each; 16,764 employees who stopped working as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic; 25,877 employees who were requested by their employers to borrow money to pay wages to restore production (for employers whose operations were suspended); and 9,044 employees requested by their employers to borrow a loan to pay wages to restore production (for employers whose business is transport, aviation, tourism, accommodation services and manpower export).

To achieve the above results, VSS has continuously given timely and drastic system-wide instructions to seriously and effectively implement Resolution 68/NQ-CP and Decision 23/ 2021/QD-TTg.
