Customs authorities have closely worked with relevant bodies to fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting, and arrested 11,961 cases with an estimated value of nearly VND2,000 billion. They collected VND170 billion for the State Budget, prosecuted 25 cases and transferred 102 to other competent bodies for further settlement. Especially, the customs sector took back and handled overdue tax of VND535.4 billion.

As of October 31, 2021, customs authorities conducted 150 inspections, proposed collecting VND288.6 billion of tax in arrears, and paid VND227.1 billion to the State Budget. They also carried out 1,328 post-customs clearance checks and imposed administrative fines of VND545.7 billion and collected VND494.7 billion for the State coffers.
