The Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham) was launched on April 5 to promote economic cooperation, trading and investment in Vietnam, together with strengthening the Thai businesses community in Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) Do Nhat Hoang said that ThaiCham's presence will be the key to promoting Vietnam-Thailand trade and investment, opening up more opportunities for Thai investors by providing information on Vietnam's economic policies, business conditions and business environment. The purpose is to consult, connect and create business opportunities between Vietnam and Thailand, and promptly reflect the opinions of businesses to the Vietnamese Government. This will be essential for long-term sustainable investment cooperation of Thai investors in Vietnam.
Piyapong Jriyasetapong, Chairman of ThaiCham said, ThaiCham now has different members from many industries and more than 100 Thai companies established in Vietnam. As ThaiCham is in tight collaboration with the Thai Embassy, Thai Consulate-General, Thai- Vietnam Business Council in Thailand, Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries and the communities, ThaiCham expects to gather Thai businesses to join the ThaiCham community and develop the sustainable presence of Thai operation in Vietnam to celebrate 45 years of the Thai-Vietnam diplomatic relationship.
