Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival to be held in December

The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will take place from December 2-5, 2005 in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province. Addressing a press conference to launch the event, Nguyen Van Lang, chairman of the Dak Lak People’s Committee, said that the festival would introduce all the achievements recorded by the Vietnamese coffee industry and create an opportunity for promoting the combination between production, processing and export of coffee, tapping fully great potential Vietnam’s coffee industry. Also on the occasion, the Buon Ma Thuot coffee trademark would be launched.
 
The festival will see the participation of over 100 Vietnamese and foreign enterprises, who will introduce their products, including coffee materials and flavours, and handicrafts made of coffee trees, as well as technology, production lines, equipment and machines for coffee processing. The festival include many other activities, such as seminars about coffee and the final of a farmers’ contest, the demonstration of a wet coffee processing model, visits to coffee plantations and processing establishments, and many other cultural, tourist and entertainment activities. More importantly, during the festival, the organisers will present the gold cup prize to high quality products.
 
Dak Lak’s coffee farming area and output account for 50 per cent of Vietnam’s coffee farming area and output. The province is also an attractive tourist destination with many landscapes and relic sites. The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will make a contribution to promote Buon Ma Thuot coffee products and economic potential of Dak Lak province, helping attract more Vietnamese and foreign investors and tourists.
