By conducting post-customs clearance inspection in the first six months of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department contributed VND42 billion to the State Budget, more than doubling the value in the same period of 2021.

Notably, the department inspected and imposed a high duty on violating enterprises. It discovered that two cashew nut importers used tax-free cargo for improper purposes. The recollected tax was nearly VND12 billion.

Notably, some importers used wrong codes and tax rates. Specifically, an importer of electrolyte powder for hemodialysis misrepresented freight codes and tax rates and was subjected to a tax of VND3.88 billion. An importer of products for export manufacturing did not declare and pay duty on its imports. It imposed a tax of over VND2.3 billion.
