The Bid Opening Ceremony of the project “Investment on facilities and medical equipment for four provincial hospitals in Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, and Can Tho provinces and Danang City” financed by the Italian Development Cooperation took place on October 18, 2005 at the Ministry of Health with the participation of three Italian bidders: Agmin Group, INSO SpA, and Sincrateia Trading Srl.
Sincrateia Trading Srl made the best financial offer with a total price of more than 4.5 million Euro.
The project will contribute to improve the quality of healthcare provided to the population of the four provinces by supplying basic healthcare, diagnostic, operating and emergency rooms’ equipment and associated training services. This project is the largest, soft loan financed, bilateral Italian ODA project in the health sector in Vietnam.
Implementation of the project is expected to start right after the bid evaluation is completed, most probably at the beginning of 2006, and to complete within eighteen months.
Representatives of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Italian Embassy in Hanoi attended the bid opening ceremony and urged the Ministry of Health to proceed as fast as possible to complete bid evaluation and draft contract’s negotiations with the successful bidder.

Correction:
On November 25-31, 2005, Vietnam Business Forum’s website, due to confusion in editing, posted up the headline of the article “Sincrateia Trading Srl Wins Bid on Italian-financed 4.5Mln Euro Health Project” while the bidding result has not been decided. Now it is read “Bid on Italian-financed Health Project Opens”.
We are sorry for the mistake.
