Export and import duties grossed VND32,490 billion in October, totaling VND362,413 billion in the first 10 months of the year, equal to 103% of the full-year estimate and 86.3% of the target and up 14.6% over the same period of 2021, said the General Department of Vietnam Customs on November 3.
The October export and import value was estimated at US$58.27 billion. Of the sum, exports were estimated at US$30.27 billion, up 1.5% (US$452 million) and imports were worth US$28 billion, down 1.3% (US$382 million).
The export and import value was forecast at US$ 616.24 billion in the first 10 months, up 14.1% year on year or an increase of US$75.94 billion over the same period in 2021. Of the sum, exports were estimated at US$312.82 billion, up 15.9% or an increase of US$42.98 billion; and imports were worth US$ 303.42 billion, up 12.2% or a growth of US$32.95 billion.
As a result, Vietnam had a trade surplus of US$2.27 billion in October and US$9.4 billion in the 10-month reporting period.
