De Heus Vietnam Inaugurates First De Heus Premix Factory in Asia - Future of Animal Nutrition

De Heus organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the De Heus Premix Factory in Dong Nai, with a capacity of 60,000 tons. This is the first Premix Factory of De Heus in Asia. It is located in Song May Industrial Park,  with favorable traffic conditions connecting key Southern economic provinces.

From the largest animal feed producer in the independent livestock market in Vietnam

The animal nutrition industry has witnessed strong growth in recent years in close relation with the growing global demand for animal proteins.

On November 9, 2022, De Heus organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the De Heus Premix Factory in Dong Nai, with a capacity of 60,000 tons. This is the first Premix Factory of De Heus in Asia. It is located in Song May Industrial Park,  with favorable traffic conditions connecting key Southern economic provinces. This location allows De Heus to have easy access to high quality raw materials sources, suitable for producing premium quality ingredients for the animal feed industry in Vietnam.

Mr. Gabor Fluit – CEO De Heus Asia was pleased to share that De Heus has several Premix factories in Europe, but this is the first one in Vietnam and Asia.

“After the acquisition of Masan's animal feed business, De Heus's total sales volume of feed in Vietnam doubled. Along with the continuous development of De Heus in Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and India, the demand for high-quality premixes to produce the best quality animal feeds is increasing accordingly.

Premix is, by volume, a relatively small part of an animal feed formulation but it is like a ‘chip’ in a machine, even small but plays a significant role in the animal value chain. However, it plays an important role in the whole agriculture chain. Therefore, De Heus decided to invest in a new premix factory in Vietnam to ensure our product quality is stable and reliable, helping farmers to reduce costs, increase production efficiency, and therefore enhance their competitiveness in the market.”

“At this plant, we invested in entirely new and modern machinery, and cold storage, with a total value of more than VND200 billion. In particular, the Raw material silo is worth more than VND100 billion. This helps De Heus to manage the product quality well from input to output, which we are confident will help farmers improve both productivity and health of their animals, opening opportunities for exporting more and more products overseas,” Mr. Gabor said.
