New Rural Construction: Creation and Development of Multi-Value Rural Economy

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) coordinated with the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to organize the National Conference on the system of New Rural Coordination Offices at all levels in 2023 on February 17 at the Convention Center of Hai Phong.

On the side of Hai Phong city, there were comrades Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; delegates to the Conference are representatives of leaders of ministries, central agencies and branches and representatives of the New Rural Coordination Office in 63 provinces and cities.

Speaking at the opening and welcoming of the conference, comrades: Le Minh Hoan - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Le Tien Chau - Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee emphasized: Agriculture, farmers, and rural areas are areas always favored by the Party; the State determines its position and importance in every revolutionary period; the basis and foundation for sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring political stability, national security, preserving and promoting national cultural identity. The National Target Program on rural development has been implemented for 12 years, the program's achievements, especially in the period 2010-2020, have created a positive change that has clearly changed the face of agriculture. farmers, in rural areas; mobilize enormous resources from the population to invest in upgrading rural infrastructure. The program continues to be promoted nationwide to integrate with the schedule of socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction in the period of 2021-2025.

Up to now, the city has 5/7 districts meeting New Rural standards; 137/137 communes have met the new rural standards, in which, 42 communes have been recognized as meeting advanced rural standards and 22 have completed the criteria for model rural villages, currently the city is continuing to invest an average of about 125 billion VND per commune, striving by the end of 2025, all communes will reach the standard of model rural areas. The results of the National Target Program on New Rural construction have really changed the skin and meat for rural areas of the city; The people's material and spiritual life has improved markedly. At the Conference, the delegates focused on discussing 5 core issues to strive to achieve the guidelines and directions of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government, which are: "Building new rural areas associated with implementation effectively restructure the agricultural sector, develop the rural economy, urbanize the process, go into depth, effectively and sustainably; implement the construction of advanced rural areas, model new rural areas and new rural areas at village and village level; improve the material and spiritual life of rural people, promote gender equality; build rural socio-economic infrastructure synchronously and step by step modern, ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe environment and rural landscape, rich in traditional cultural identity, adapting to climate change and sustainable development”.

The OCOP program must create a rural economic space, creating many jobs for rural people. In addition to the main conference taking place this morning, from February 15 to February 17, there was also a conference to train some new knowledge on new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period with 7 topics and a Global Conference.
