Vietcombank’s 6th Trade Union Congress Held in Hanoi

On July 17, 2023, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) held the 6th Vietcombank Trade Union Congress at the Vietcombank Training and Human Resource Development School in Ecopark Urban Area.

Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Union gave a directing speech at the Congress.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr. Hong Quang, Member of Standing Committee of Vietnam Banking Trade Union, Member of the Board of Directors cum Director of Human Resources Division, and Chairman of Vietcombank’s Trade Union said that “At this Congress, we will evaluate the achieved results, identify shortcomings, limitations and causes, learn from the process of organizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 5th Vietcombank Trade Union; discuss and contribute to the draft documents of Vietnam’s Banking Trade Union Congress; elect the 6th Executive Committee of the Trade Union who are truly typical representatives of political qualities, revolutionary ethics, and capable of leading the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Vietcombank Trade Union Congress. The congress will also elect a delegation to attend the 7th Vietnam’s Banking Union Congress for term 2023-2028.”

They put their full faith in the delegates of Congress to build a trade union organization that is truly the center of solidarity, gathers the overall strength of the system, motivates employees to work, promotes the role of ownership, contributes to the development of Vietcombank, affirms its position as the No. 1 bank in Vietnam, and gradually integrates firmly with the region and the world.

The congress elected 21 qualified comrades to the 6th Executive Committee of Vietcombank’s Trade Union for term 2023 - 2028. It also elected 35 official delegates and 06 alternate delegates to attend the 7th Congress of Vietnam’s Banking Union for term 2023 - 2028.
