Intelligent Traffic Control

VCCI in conjunction with University of Communication and Transport (UCT) have recently organised a seminar introducing some solutions on automatic traffic control. The Institute of Cybernetics, UTC presented the model of intelligent traffic control.

 

Speaking at the seminar, VCCI Vice-President Doan Duy Khuong pointed out that beside the need to improve people’s knowledge, competitiveness of products, further investment in science and technology is of particular importance. Communication and transport is also an area requiring special attention.

 

Assistant Professor, Dr. Le Hung Lan, University of Communication and Transport listed the shortfalls of Vietnamese traffic system: bottlenecks, inconsistent traffic lights, poor roads and vehicles. Dr. Lan concluded that the solution can only be found when all the informations on traffic density, number of vehicles are under management. The system of intelligent traffic control will create a close-circuit information on traffic density and forward it to the control centre.                                                  

 

The system will apply GPS, GIS, GSM together with control devices and Network camera of high precision and accuracy.
