Agribank, Prudential Cooperate in Providing Banking-Insurance Services
The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) and the life insurer Prudential Vietnam on November 19 in Ho Chi Minh City started executing their agreement on jointly providing banking-insurance services.
The two parties will gradually provide services under the cooperative agreement to their clients.
First, Agribank will help Prudential collect insurance premiums at its branches. Prudential customers can pay their insurance premiums at any branches of the bank without any other fee, while clerks at these branches will provide contract information to the insurer’s clients.
In the coming period, the two sides will offer their clients more new services.
At the inaugural ceremony, Mark Tucker, general director of the Global Prudential Group, said that he thanked Ho Chi Minh City for their support for Prudential's operations and development.
Tucker pledged that Prudential Vietnam would increase investment in Vietnam and contribute more to economic development in the country, particularly Ho Chi Minh City.
On the same day, Prudential Vietnam officially inaugurated its first office building, the 6-storie Pru Plaza, in Ho Chi Minh City.
Addressing the event, British Ambassador to Vietnam Robert Gordon said Prudential Vietnam would be the successful symbol of economic cooperation between two countries.
Since operating in Vietnam in November 1999, the British life insurance giant has scored total insurance premiums of nearly VND10.8 trillion (US$683.5 million), of which VND7.4 trillion ($468 million) has been re-invested in the economy.
