Unilever Vietnam funds VND2Bln to Vietnam Heath Care and Sanitation Project
The Unilever Vietnam Fund (UVF) has recently provided VND2 billion for ten community assistance projects in Vietnam this year, an increase of two times compared with total projects and budget given to the country last year.
Of total ten projects, eight belong to the annual assistance programs on health care and sanitation that the UVF offers to Vietnam.
Last year, the UVF has financed four projects with total investment of VND600 million. These projects have been completed, helping raise awareness and improve health care and sanitation conditions among people.
Therefore, the fund has decided to increase investment in these eight projects this year.
Unilever Vietnam will also give sponsor to two long-term projects, including Traffic Safety Education and Helmet Equipment to pupils in primary schools and Vocational Training under KOTO program, bringing total pledged capital this year to VND2 billion.
In 20006-2010, Unilever Vietnam, via its arm UVF and other labels, plans to spend VND70 billion each year on projects to improve health care and sanitation, education and women capability.
