Construction Commencement Ceremony of the First Aeon Shopping Center in the Mekong Delta Region – Aeon Tan An

Recenly, AEON Vietnam Company Limited (AEON Vietnam) officially held the construction commencement ceremony for AEON Tan An shopping center (SC) in Ward 6, Tan An City, Long An Province. This is the 8th shopping center in Vietnam of AEON Group and the 1st project in the Mekong Delta region, which is scheduled to open in late 2025.

Located in the 'New Administrative Center’ of Long An province, along the Hung Vuong arterial road connecting to the city center, adjacent to National Highway 1A, and only about 1km away from the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, AEON Tan An SC possesses a prime location, which is convenient for transportation. Situated at the gateway connecting with the Southwestern provinces, AEON Tan An SC aims to serve not only the residents of Long An but also those from its neighbouring provinces. With an estimated total gross floor area (GFA) of nearly 30,000 m2, the parking lot can accommodate nearly 250 cars and more than 700 motorbikes, designed according to the concept of “Daily Community Park”. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Truong Hoa Binh - former member of the Politburo, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of People's Committee of Long An province, Mr. Ono Masuo, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, and representatives of central and local authorities of Vietnam and Japan alongside former provincial leaders, members of the provincial Party Standing Committee, representatives of departments and organizations of Long An province, leaders of Tan An City, and representatives of partners.

AEON identifies Vietnam as the second hub beside Japan, to continue accelerating investment and accompanying with Vietnam’s growth. AEON Tan An SC marks a significant milestone in AEON Group's strategy of investment expansion into new areas in Vietnam. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of People's Committee of Long An province commented “AEON Tan An is one of the projects with a large investment capital, aiming to construct a modern shopping center comprising various amenities: a shopping area, a food court, an entertainment area, and more. It promises to be a destination where residents and tourists can experience a new lifestyle and immerse themselves in a space close to nature and friendly to the environment. Upon its operation, the shopping center is expected to contribute to the development of the province's trade and service sector, particularly by creating numerous job opportunities for local workers, boosting the consumption of Vietnamese goods, and supporting the development of local human resources.”

Mr. Ono Masuo, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City shared at the ceremony: “For over a decade, AEON Shopping Center chains have brought Japanese products to Vietnamese people across the country, making Japan feel closer than ever. We wish for the prosperity of AEON Mall Tan An, which will become a place where Vietnamese people can experience Japan even closer."

During the commencement ceremony of the shopping mall, AEON Vietnam also presented 200 trees to the City of Tan An in response to the launch of the "Planting Trees in Memory of President Ho Chi Minh" campaign and the "World Environment Day" activities with the theme of "Beat Plastic Pollution" of the City.
