Vietnam Expects US$12Bln from Services Exports by 2010
Vietnam expects to earn an annual growth in services exports of 16.3 per cent from now to 2010 with total turnover of US$12 billion by then, the Trade Ministry (MoT) has announced.
Insurance, telecommunication, finance and sea shipment will post the highest annual jumps of 29.3 per cent, 24/5 per cent, 22.4 per cent and 21.5 per cent, respectively to fetch US$550 million, US$530 million, US$470 million and US$1.1 billion by 2010, MoT said.
Meanwhile, tourism services, labor export and air-transportation will be the largest earners with US$3.2 billion, US$3 billion and US$950 billion from selling services abroad by that time, the source said.
In 2005, the communist nation reported export turnover from service sectors of US$5.65 billion, up US$1.65 billion over the targeted figure.
The country’s total export turnover last year was estimated to be US$32.23 billion, up 21.6 per cent on-year. This year, it expects to get US$38.08 billion from exports, up 18.5 per cent against 2005.
