Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is accelerating its recruitment efforts in Vietnam to meet the strong surge in customer demand. The airline will be hosting pilot recruitment roadshows in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, seeking experienced commercial pilots to join its expanding team.
The upcoming roadshows will take place in Hanoi on 29 November at 7pm and 30 November at 10am, and in Ho Chi Minh City on 01 December at 7pm, 02 December at 10am, and 02 December at 5pm. Pilots are only required to attend one of the sessions. At the session, prospective Emirates pilots can learn more about the airline’s recruitment process, available opportunities, training programs, career trajectories, and benefits. They will also have the chance to speak to current Emirates pilots. Interested pilots in the North can register for the Hanoi roadshow at the Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi via this link, while those in the South can register for the Ho Chi Minh City roadshow at Pullman Saigon Centre via this link.
Mr. Majid Al Falasi, Emirates’ Country Manager in Vietnam, commented: “Vietnam is a fast-growing market with rising demand for international travel, and Emirates is committed to supporting this growth by recruiting skilled pilots. With Emirates, they’ll enjoy a rewarding career flying one of the world’s most modern fleets, comprehensive training, and extensive benefits. We look forward to welcoming Vietnam’s top aviation talent as we expand operations in this dynamic market.”
Emirates’ Expanded Pilot Opportunities
Emirates announced significant changes to its pilot recruitment this year, including higher salaries, new roles, and updated eligibility criteria. Experienced pilots who are keen to join Emirates can explore opportunities in four programs: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, First Officers Type Rated, and Non-Type Rated.
Direct Entry Captain: To command Emirates’ highly anticipated A350 aircraft or the A380s, candidates need a minimum of 7,000 hours of flying experience on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial aircraft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead flights on some of the most advanced aircraft in the world..
Accelerated Command Programme: Designed for experienced Airbus and Boeing Captains with a minimum of 1,000 hours of Airbus fly-by-wire or Boeing experience, this program allows pilots to transition into a global airline environment. Captains join as First Officers on an enhanced salary package and are eligible for an accelerated command upgrade after 700 flying hours and two successful recurrent checks, typically achieved in a little over a year.
First Officers – Non-Type Rated: Emirates offers opportunities for First Officers with experience on turbo prop or jets who are non-type rated. These pilots will receive full training to fly Emirates' wide-body fleet, including the new Boeing 777-Xs, which will join the fleet in 2025.
First Officers: This program is for candidates with multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft experience, a valid ICAO ATPL, and a minimum of 2,000 hours on 20-tonne maximum take-off weight aircraft. This role allows pilots to join Emirates' prestigious fleet and play a key part in the airline’s global operations.
Empowering Vietnamese Talent in the Airline Industry with Emirates
Vietnam’s airline industry is rapidly growing, and Emirates is actively recruiting skilled Vietnamese pilots to meet global demand. By joining Emirates, pilots will be part of a world-leading airline with access to a vast network spanning over 148 destinations across six continents. They will have the opportunity to fly one of the most modern all-wide-body fleets, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and upcoming A350s and 777Xs, while working with cutting-edge aviation technology.
This recruitment initiative not only supports Emirates’ expansion but also empowers aviation professionals with world-class training and career growth opportunities.
Training at Emirates
Emirates provides comprehensive, evidence-based in-house training at its advanced pilot training facilities in Dubai, which currently houses ten simulators. The airline is also building a new training facility with six Full Flight Simulator Bays for its A350 and 777X aircraft, slated to open later this year.
