Hit by global economic slowdown, many wood processors and exporters in Binh Dinh province have confronted difficulties. After more than 15 years of construction and development, with a solid foundation and internal strength, the ecosystem of Nguyet Anh Joint Stock Company currently covers the entire Central region and the Central Highlands region, including Nguyet Anh Transport Co., Ltd (based in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh), Thanh Ngan Joint Stock Company (Tay Son, Binh Dinh), Hung Nguyet Anh Co., Ltd (Van Canh, Binh Dinh), Hung Thanh Ngan Co., Ltd (Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh), Hue Bioenergy Joint Stock Company (Huong Thuy Town, Hue), and other member companies. Notably, in July 2022, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province granted an investment license to Nguyet Anh Wood Pellet Factory Project in Cat Hiep commune, Phu Cat district. This project costs VND115 billion for construction and has a yearly capacity of 70,000 tons, invested by Nguyet Anh Joint Stock Company. Covering 53,032.4 square meters, the factory will tap local advantages in Cat Hiep commune. Wood pellets are a clean energy source and are produced in many types and sizes depending on each order. For example, wood pellets are used as fuel for thermal power plants and as fuel for daily life instead of gas, coal and electricity. Currently, the demand for pellets for thermal power plants in Japan and South Korea is growing. The project will bring in high economic value, contribute to the overall economic development of Phu Cat district, and provide jobs for local people.

Developing “green” production

Coupling the business strategy with environmental protection, Nguyet Anh Joint Stock Company always focuses on consistent solutions to improve wastewater treatment capacity, prevent environmental incidents, improve the landscape, and develop “green” production. Every year, the company conducts environmental impact assessment (EIA) reports and periodically monitors and controls environmental pollution. Therefore, the firm is always highly appreciated by governmental agencies for strict compliance with legal regulations on environmental protection.

Nguyet Anh has invested in additional dust treatment facilities by ending the import of powdered raw materials from other facilities for manufacturing mixed compressed pellets, effectively renovating drying ovens and dust treaters of drying ovens, installing suspended dust and particle systems with exhaust fans in grinding workshops and dried material warehouses, upgrading dust filtration systems for water-filtered exhaust gas before being discharged into the environment, adding dust treatment equipment for chimneys, completing the construction of rainwater treatment systems in wood chip storage yards with a daily capacity of 10 cubic meters.

The above technology is applied synchronously in its environmental activities. Quarterly environmental monitoring of toxic gases and ambient air quality are quite good, lower than the allowable standards for toxic gas concentrations. Dust concentrations at inspected locations in the workplace are all within the allowable limits according to TCVSLĐ 3733/2002/QD-BYT and in the factory-surrounding areas within the allowable limits according to QCVN 05:2013/BTNMT.

Nguyet Anh has actively coordinated with local authorities and the Binh Dinh Bureau of Environmental Protection to conduct regular monitoring and quarterly checks of discharged water which must meet the given standards. In its EIA reports, the company annually proposes solutions for wastewater treatment and expresses commitments to treating wastewater in accordance with current standards and regulations before discharging it into the environment. The firm has furnished advanced pellet production technologies and equipment, installed automatic vacuum cleaners and mist sprayers in the workplace and surrounding areas to minimize noise and dust emissions.
